Team Pictures

Apparently Mother Nature is not a Snowboarding fan, and she went and ruined our first picture day, but the new and improved picture day will be SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2009 at 12:00pm. Please remember your toques and bandannas, and come be in the team photo even if you are not planning to purchase any pictures.

Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 7:00pm will be our monthly meeting at the Devon Canada office on 116 Street. Please forward any agenda items to Audrey Cann. Thank you again to Rob Petrone and Shelagh Penson of Devon Canada for arranging the space for us!

Sunday, February 15, 2009 the club will be loading a bus and making the pilgrimage to the temple of the snow gods, Powder King, for the RBC Riders Slopestyle. Make sure you're subscribed to the blog and checking your email for more information yet to come on this epic event.

It's so close I can taste it!

One more sleep! That's right folks, Wednesday, January 7 is upon us. Ukrainian Christmas, but more importantly, it's the official start date of the second season of the Nitehawk Snowboard Club. The forecast is calling for a balmy -19 degrees, and coaches have been shopping all fall for flamboyant snow gear to look good for all of you!

Riders should be ready on the snow at 6:00pm sharp, but parents please stop by the lounge early to sign Photo Release forms and a few Alberta Snowboard Association insurance forms. But more importantly than all of that, riders can pick up their sweet green bandannas in the lounge ahead of time.

Another administrative meeting has been tentatively scheduled for Tuesday January 13 at the Devon Canada office on 116 Street, please plan to make it and stay in touch for a firm confirmation from Audrey or Amy. The position of Treasurer needs to be filled.

And lastly, team and individual club pictures will take place on Saturday, January 24. More details will follow. Remember to sign off on the Photo Release form on the 7th so that we can get some wicked awesome action shots on the website, facebook, the Nitehawk website, billboards, TV, radio, mugs, mousepads, etc. But seriously, the website needs pictures, and we need permission.

New Season!

It's that time of year again! A bit of snow has flown, you can finally dig that gear out and take it for a tune-up without looking ridiculous. The Nitehawk Snowboard Club has been busy planning already, and here is what you need to know:

Registration: November 1, 2008. Annual Nitehawk Ski, Board & Bike Swap. TEC Centre at Evergreen Park. 9:00am-3:00pm.
Coaching: The more coaches we find, the more athletes we can accept. If you are interested in coaching, email Aaron at aaronpenson@gmail.com
